Join The Telluride Gallery of Fine Art in welcoming back photographer Maggie Taylor. The artist’s newest images are on display from Monday, July 24 – Sunday, July 30. The gallery plans to host Maggie for an artist talk on Thursday, July 27, 6 p.m.

Join us for an evening with abstract painter Krista Harris, Tuesday July 25, at 6pm. A career level artist whose gestural, abstract paintings are richly layered with mark and medium, sharing a love of both drawing and painting. She thinks of her work as maps or environments, exploring the imperfect, fleeting changes between the natural and the man-made worlds we navigate on a daily basis.

A multi-disciplinary collaboration of sculpture, dance, and music, and the culmination of Will Clift's artist residency at Stanford University.

'In a Winter Garden' is a dance performance and sculptural installation that investigates the shared signature elements of Will Clift’s large-scale sculptures, Diane Frank’s site-specific choreography, and Jarek Kapuscinski’s music: intervals of balance, imbalance, and breathed connection within an ever-shifting environment. The performance will feature both student and alumni dancers.

The Japanese aesthetic concept of “ma,” a breath-related sense of interval in time and space, runs through all three art forms in this work. Both sculpture and movement will unfold within a sonic environment; Japanese master musician Ko Ishikawa will play the score in live performance on the “Sho,” or 'mouth organ.'

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. The awards will be presented at the White House on November 22nd.
Maya Lin is an artist and designer who is known for her work in sculpture and landscape art. She designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and since then has pursued a celebrated career in both art and architecture. A committed environmentalist, Lin is currently working on a multi-sited artwork/memorial, What is Missing? bringing awareness to the planet's loss of habitat and biodiversity.
